Oatmeal Raisins Rolls Recipe - Honey Walnut Bread

Dough:
375g (3 cups) all-purpose flour
6g (2 tsp) instant yeast

25g (2 tbsp) sugar
2.5g (1/2 tsp) salt
1 large egg, beaten
125ml (1/2 cup) warm milk

 42g (3 tbsp) soft butter

Filling:
1/2 cup oatmeal
1/2 cup chopped raisins
1/2 cup chopped walnut
3 tbsp melted butter
2-3 tbsp clear honey, adjustable.


Method:

  1. In a large bowl: flour, yeast, sugar, salt, beaten egg, warm milk. Stir.
  2. Add the soft butter. Mix just until combined.
  3. Knead until the dough is smooth. Cover for an hour.
  4. In a medium bowl, put all the filling ingredients. Mix well and set aside.
  5. When the dough is ready, transfer to the counter and divide into 10 pieces.
  6. Roll the dough into an oval.  Roll up into a cigar and flatten thin and roll up again.
  7. Now we have 5 rolled dough. Flatten into an oval and thin.
  8. Spread the filling on the dough, roll up like a swiss roll.
  9.  Put on the baking pan greased with butter. This recipe use 2 baking pans 20 x 14 cm.
  10.  Cover 30 minutes. Egg wash. Make small slashes on the dough.
  11.  Bake in preheated oven 180°C (350°F) 25 minutes, if get brown too fast, cover with foil.
